The James W. Jackson Dining Room – named after the late James W. Jackson in recognition of his 28 years of exemplary and distinguished service to Appalachian State University.
The Jackson Dining Room, or JDR, is located off the main lobby of the facility. Wi-Fi available. The JDR offers both ambiance and diverse dining options throughout each day. Dine either near our majestic stone fireplace, made from local Tennessee black stone, or take in the beautiful 25 mile mountainous view from the completely windowed wall. Enjoying the breathtaking sunrise over the mountain tops during an early breakfast is a highlight for many of our guests. The impressive views, our delightful cuisine and the live student entertainment make the JDR a truly special place to “dine at the top."

Our breakfast buffet is available when we anticipate a high volume of breakfast guests. Breakfast Buffet is $7.95 plus beverages, tax and gratuities. When a buffet style format is not required, an a la carte Breakfast Menu is offered in its place.
Deluxe Continental Breakfast (Sunday)

Offered in the Northwestern Room, our Sunday morning Deluxe Continental costs $6.95 plus beverages, tax & gratuities.
All-Day Dining (Mon-Sat)

Our showcase Sunday Brunch Buffet is one of the best in the High Country. Full breakfast and lunch selections are available including omelets made to order, carving station and fresh seafood offerings, $23.95 including beverages, plus tax & gratuities.

All-Day Dining (Mon-Sat)
1:30 PM – 5:00 PM
We offer a limited a la carte All Day Menu for “between the meals” times of day.
Dinner (nightly)
5:30 PM - 9:00 PM
Dinner service in the JDR steps things up a notch. Enjoy our exquisite culinary selections from our lengthy Dinner Menu; add in a fine bottle of wine or a microbrew beer from our extensive Wine & Beer List; finish off with an exquisite dessert from our Dessert Menu. Couple these enjoyments with the ambiance and the tremendous views and your evening is set. For a night on the town with that someone special, a large gathering of friends and family, or a business occasion, the JDR is a unique experience for all.
